Slips, Fluga och Näsduk - När, var, hur?

The tie

If you don't use the tie on a daily basis, a few well-chosen ties will last you a long time. If you want to keep a discreet profile, we recommend that, with blue and gray suits, you use a tie in dark brown, navy blue base or with navy blue as the main color. The most discreet patterns are polka dots or paisley in tone-on-tone color. If you would rather stand out, you can choose a pattern image with a little more contrast in the colors and with stronger colors.

You should always have a tie for a funeral in your wardrobe, in Sweden a white or black plain tie is usually used, but if you are going to a funeral in another country, it might be good to check which color applies there.

The fly

The bow tie is not as common in everyday contexts, but is a mandatory part of the tuxedo dress code and is also becoming more and more common to use with both suits and blazers. For a tuxedo, according to dress code, the bow tie should always be black, but if you wear the bow tie with a suit or jacket, you can choose a more playful variant, both in terms of pattern and color.

The handkerchief

The small handkerchief for the jacket pocket is an accessory that we really recommend investing in. We recommend a few well-chosen variants that work for most things. First of all, we recommend the white handkerchief that goes with any blazer worn with a white shirt. This is often how one should think, that the handkerchief should harmonize with the color of the shirt, or match with the blazer. We do not recommend matching a tie or bow tie with a handkerchief, it is often associated with ready-made sets, which we do not recommend if you want a more stylish and exciting look.
