Experiences from a Yoga retreat

Imagine a place without mobile phone reception, without traffic noise. A place where the sound of nature is the only thing heard. That's how it was to arrive at the yoga retreat we visited in Stockholm's northern archipelago.
We would stay here for four days, do yoga 6-8 hours a day and be quiet for the same amount of time. It was a challenge to calm down, listen to your body and find yourself. You would think that the days were long and intense, but in fact time passed far too quickly, and intense was only the first name.
Those of us who are not seasoned yogis these days had training soreness after day one and getting as close to one's inner self as we did these days was intense, challenging, draining, hard, educational and very lovely.
What we take with us that we hope to continue with at home is to give ourselves time to be, time for ourselves, time to feel in and reflect. It doesn't have to be much, it can be as little as 5 minutes, but those 5 minutes are better than nothing and it's enough to get a sense of what you and your body need right now.
