Many people love our Mala necklaces with 108 stones. But we get a lot of questions about how they can be used in meditation. This is what our meditation ritual looks like when we use Mala necklaces
Find a place to sit quietly, it can be on a chair or on the floor, whichever feels most comfortable for you.
Light a candle or incense, scents make it easier for you to let go of thoughts that are spinning in your head.
Take a few deep breaths, inhaling through your nose and exhaling through your mouth. Return to your normal breathing and pick up your mala. Hold it in your one hand, keep your hand on the tassel.
Choose a mantra that suits you for the day, or one that fits with your mala (see a selected mantra on each Mala in our webshop) e.g. "Everything I do is for my own good" or "I love myself".
Inhale, say the mantra silently in your head or out loud (saying something out loud intensifies the feeling), exhale. Move your hand forward to the first bead in the necklace. Inhale. Say the mantra again. Exhale. Move your hand forward to the next bead in the necklace. Inhale. Say the mantra. Exhale. Repeat until you get back to the tassel.
If you don't have much time, you can set a clock and only do this meditation until the clock rings, e.g. 10 minutes
This type of meditation is powerful and can help you really begin to believe in your mantra. So feel free to choose a mantra that means a lot to you.
End the meditation by thanking yourself for the moment you have given yourself.
Good luck!
