When we visit factories, we look at various things such as cleanliness, lighting, air quality and safety. It therefore felt safe that everything lived up to our expectations. We were met by the factory owner Yusuf who showed us around. The workers were men of mixed ages, one man had worked in jewelry making for 40 years, he was referred to as "master". It surprised us that even older men were working, we ourselves both have glasses and eyesight is our biggest obstacle to manufacturing.
As you can see in the picture above, earrings like our bestsellers Ny and Theá are made here, but in a new form. The process is that molds are cast for the glass crystals to be used, then they solder the earring itself. After that, the entire "form" is pressed tightly against the glass crystal and the stick is formed into a hook. The earring is then ready for plating. The plating is done in a machine that gilds or silvers the jewelry. After that, the jewelry is ready.
As a family business, we are also extra proud to collaborate with more family businesses. As many as 4 out of 6 factories we cooperate with are owned by different family businesses. For example, the factory in Istanbul is owned by 2 brothers.
We are so happy to make these trips to ensure the process goes right.
